2010 Mazda Mazda3

- All-new model

For 2010, the Mazda3 has been redesigned into its second generation, with more standard or optional features, a new 2.5-litre engine with six-speed manual transmission that replaces the previous 2.3-litre, and available electronic stability control.

The Mazda3 comes as a four-door sedan or four-door hatchback, called the Sport. The Mazdaspeed3 comes only as a four-door hatchback. Engine choices in the sedan are a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with five-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic with manual shift mode in the GX and GS trim lines, while the GT uses a new 2.5-litre four-cylinder with six-speed manual or five-speed automatic with manual shift mode, a powerplant first introduced in the 2009 Mazda6. In the Sport, the 2.0-litre is used in the GX, while the 2.5-litre comes in the GS and GT. The Mazdaspeed3 uses a turbocharged 2.3-litre direct injection engine with six-speed manual transmission.

Features on the GX sedan include 16-inch steel wheels, power mirrors, variable intermittent windshield wipers, exterior temperature gauge, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power locks, power windows with auto-down driver’s side, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, illuminated entry, vanity mirrors, mechanical driver’s height adjustment, cloth seats, floor mats, centre console box with lid, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, and front active head restraints. Air conditioning can be added as an option.

A Comfort Package of electronic stability control, traction control and power sunroof can be added.

Available options include a power sunroof, a Luxury Package of leather seats with power driver’s seat, memory, and soft-feel leather-like sliding console lid, and a GT-E package of navigation, Sirius satellite radio, Bose audio system, ten speakers, automatic headlamp levelling, intelligent key and pushbutton start.
