For 2010, the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe and Volante (convertible) undergo minor changes: new mirrors that also power-fold and tip down in reverse, updates to several interior systems, and new head restraints. New available features include a premium stereo, clear taillamp lenses, polished tread plates and a luggage set.
Both the Coupe and Volante use a 6.0-litre V12 engine, mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission that includes manual shift mode and paddle-shift controls.
Features on both models include 19-inch aluminum wheels, full-grain leather interior with walnut trim, three-position memory seats and mirrors, ten-way heated power seats, automatic climate control, trip computer, cruise control, power-folding exterior mirrors, backup sensor, tire pressure monitoring system, six-CD stereo and umbrella with holder.
Available optional equipment includes bright-finish grille, front parking sensors, personalized sill plates, auto-dimming rearview mirror, garage door opener, premium stereo and smoker’s package.
The Volante’s roof operates at the touch of a button and retracts in 17 seconds, folding behind a hard tonneau cover which then electrically closes flush with the car’s bodywork. Among the Volante’s safety features are sensors that detect the risk of a potential rollover. These deploy two roll-hoops from the rear seat headrests to protect rear-seat passengers, while front seat passengers are protected by the A-pillars which can support twice the total body weight of the car.
